NSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS DUNCAN RACING INTERNATIONAL, INC.

Vortex EFI Interceptor

Model Yamaha Raptor 700 ’06-’07

1. Remove the Bike’s seat, front plastic shroud, battery bracket and rubber cover. Unbolt the petrol tank at the four mounting points.

2. Mount the EFI Interceptor in behind the tool tray under the seat. Use the Velcro provided to secure it in place. Note: Always clean the plastic surface with alcohol before applying the Velcro.

3. Route the main wiring harness down the right hand side of the frame towards the right side of the throttle body.
Step 4: Bolt the BLACK ground wire to the ground terminal of the battery.

5. Lift the petrol tank to one side and unplug the grey 2 Way Fuel Injector connector. Plug the Blue 2way connector from the EFI Interceptor into this connector.
NOTE: All connectors have a locking tab that must be pressed before attempting to unplug them. Failure to do so will result in damage to the connector housing.

6. Plug the corresponding grey 2 way connector form the EFI Interceptor onto the Fuel Injector.

7. Locate the 3 way Black Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) connector on the RHS of the Throttle Body and unplug it. Locate the corresponding 3 Way Black connector coming from the EFI Interceptor harness and plug onto the Throttle Position Sensor.

8. Plug in the Grey 3 Way connector from the EFI Interceptor harness into the Black 3 way connector previously unplugged from the Throttle Position Sensor.
Step 9: Use the zip ties provided to secure the loose wiring. Replace the petrol tank, battery bracket, rubber cover, front plastic shroud and seat. Installation of the EFI Interceptor is now complete!

EFI INTERECEPTOR SWITCH OPERATION

The EFI Interceptor comes pre-programmed with a fuel map which is designed to adjust the fuel mixture to match the increased air flow created by the addition of a free flowing silencer and air box lid removal. This corrected air/fuel ratio will maximise the engines performance. In addition, there are three switches which allow the adjustment of the VORTEX Fuel Map by a total of plus or minus 8% fuel. The three switches represent throttle openings from 0-33%, 34-66%, 67-100% respectively. Each of these throttle positions are represented over the entire RPM range of the engine.
TIP: This is in some ways similar to a carburettor pilot, needle and main fuel circuit.

Switch 1 (0-33%) – Left hand side switch – looking at the switches with the black connector to the right.
Switch 2 (34-66%) – Left hand side switch – looking at the switches with the black connector to the right.
Switch 3 (67-100%) – Left hand side switch – looking at the switches with the black connector to the right.
As supplied the three switches are in the 5-5-5 position which is the VORTEX Fuel Map. This should be suitable to run with most Air box and Silencer modifications. If a switch number is decreased (position 4,3,2,1) then fuel within that switch range (e.g. 0-33% throttle opening) will be reduced by 2% per position to a maximum of minus 8% fuel. Alternatively if the switch number is increased (Position 6,7,8,9) the fuel will be increased by 2% per position to a maximum of plus 8% fuel.

Position 0-0-0 for all three switches will be the same as the stock map.
